Asset-based Documentation in an Agile Development Environment
This article was written for inclusion in an executive summary for a group of my employers investors. The investors gathered about four times each year to monitor the progress of our software company. We instituted a new method of working, based on a rugby scrum. The agile development theory posits that employing small tasks as part of a larger whole enables a development cycle that completes 100% of all needed tasks on time. Compare this to the usual situation where 90% of the project is completed quickly, while the rest seems to take a lifetime.

Flaming Fur Ball
This article was written for a financial magazine called Pennycents, which focused on small cap or "penny" stocks. While relatively light-hearted, the article points out the advantages that investors might enjoy from a stock that, albeit inexpensive, was a success in the gaming industry. Several then-recent company games were reviewed, and company financial results were discussed as well. This article was written outside my "normal" areas of expertise, but it was an opportunity to showcase my ability to successfully complete other types of projects.

Travel and Geography, Unit 4
This is the first sample of an update I did for a non-profit curriculum project for at-risk high school students. It is the unit overview, which focused on The United States in a Travel Geography class.

Travel and Geography, Unit 4, Lesson 10
This sample is Lesson 10 in the Travel and Geography class. As you might expect, it is based on applicable national standards. This material was designed to be used in any US state, so a local teacher is expected to customize it to the required standards in his or her state. Since all of this material is distributed as electronic files and not as printed textbooks this is easy for them to do.

Important Questions about the "O" words
This last sample is a blog article that appeared in the Cleveland Plain Dealer's online version. Blogging was relatively new at the time, and there was a small devoted group of software professionals who were regular contributors. The blog has now grown to serious proportions and it is one of many technological blogs in the area.
